Turogpo: Matchmaking Carabaos with Tourists

People close to five thousand in numbers, mostly local tourists, have gathered. Some were eating snacks or full meals on makeshift food joints made out of nipa shingles. Others were standing in groups chatting. Others were busy shooting their digital cameras (since nobody was observed bringing analog camera with film in it). Noticeably, almost everywhere in the perimeter there were carabaos and horses tied to a tree. But most of the crowd was standing around a huge space waiting for something. This was the picture in the village of Camansi of Carigara town. There was one common thing about the gathering; festivity.

Maasin City delegation grabs gold, silver, bronze medals in EVRAA 2011’s swimming competition

MAASIN CITY, Southern Leyte – Maasin City Sports delegation were jubilant in the first day of the Eastern Visayas Regional Athletic Association (EVRAA) Meet 2011, that grabbed 8 gold, 7 silver and 9 bronze medals in swimming competition.

ZEST AIR flies to Kalibo from Shanghai

Zest Air made another huge leap when it made through its maiden flight from Shanghai, yes, Shanghai, China going to Kalibo in Aklan. Joining the Shanghai support team in welcoming the initial batch of Chinese passengers are Tourism Attache Gerry Panga and Consular Attache Niel Ballesteros of the Philippine Tourism Office-Philippine Consulate General in Shanghai, Mr. Bai Qing Hua, President of Jinyu Air Service Co. (Zest Air's local partner), and other officers from Jinyu Air Service Co. and Phil. Straits Travel. Zest Air's regular scheduled flights will run 2x-weekly from Pudong Airport, Terminal 1.
